I obtained my BSc. in agriculture at the University of Damascus, Syria, specializing in poultry. After taking courses at the ETH Zurich (Agrarwissenschaften) I joined the group at the Center for Proper Housing of Poultry and Rabbits where I have participated in various research projects on laying hens, broilers, broiler breeders, and rabbits. My current project is about prevalence and causes of the damaging behavior ‘toe-pecking’ in laying hens.
